october was beautiful in new jersey. i wish i had gotten more pictures of the leaves; then again, pictures never do it justice

i got to have coffee with paula. her husband is stationed here and we haven't seen each other since we graduated from tupelo high school together a million years ago.

pat and tom and i drove down to annapolis for the navy/air force football game

that's gen welsh, the chief of staff of the air force. it looks like cory is giving him a piece of his mind, but he's actually thanking him for giving him a second chance at the academy and for being the best leader in the country

the government was shut down that week so the usafa band couldn't travel. this guy bought his own plane ticket and played that bugle the whole game!

this is where we stayed. isn't it beautiful? nolan and rosie's neighbors' parents live here but were in california for the weekend.

daddy's birthday dinner. doug hess deployed at the beginning of october and we decided to have amber and the kids over for dinner every tuesday night while he was gone. this was the first one. we love this family. what a blessing!
