quick trip to oxford. got to have lunch with otis and julie pickett (alas, no pictures ~ shoot!); then caught up with john and bess currence and got to meet precious baby mamie; finally, dinner that night with the barretts, the tyners, the rutledges, dolly mcclendon, and the o'bryans. so happy to meet macon's husband, andy! never ever long enough in oxford town. :-(
we stopped in jackson the next day to have lunch with these old friends. the hassells and the riles.
we made it to laurel, mississippi. the kids love being at meme's house. it's a good thing, bc we left them there with kissy and meme and took off to the big easy!
yep. it's time. i can't believe i'm 40. wow!!!
don't you love the card pat made? he really outdid himself. he's kinda the best.
pit stop in hattiesburg to get a haircut. thanks jaime!
after a massage at the spa at our hotel (monteleone), pat took me to an amazing dinner uptown at patois.
then we met chuck and caroline bland at the carousel bar in the hotel. they were so sweet to come all the way down to new orleans to help celebrate my birthday.
caroline had never been to new orleans. i think it's safe to say she WILL be back. we had such a good time exploring the city the next day.
happy birthday to me! the currys and the atkinsons drove down from hattiesburg for my birthday dinner at sylvain.
it was absolutely perfect. we ended the night at preservation hall, listening to jazz. the real deal.
