Saturday

more from last weekend

we are preparing to put our house on the market soon.  our parents were incredibly helpful last weekend with our "to do list."

freddy, aka roosevelt, was a machine in the yard

eleanor picked out the plants for our back flower bed - pat did a great job planting all of them

finished product.  it looks SO GOOD.  apache doesn't know what to think about us putting flowers in his bathroom.

dad had a long list of mr. fix it chores.  here, apache looks on as he replaces a door knob.

pat got sucked in to being dad's little helper, a job with which my brothers and i are all too familiar...  here they are re-caulking the tub.

pops takes a much deserved break with betsy.  thank you, dad, for all the hard work!

these two are trouble together.

can't you tell?

laurel has the world's greatest GRANDparents

she is loving bath time

hoodini has gotten a hand out of her swaddle and is actively sucking her thumb.  it may be the cutest thing i've ever seen.

in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

last sunday laurel was baptized at our church, redeemer presbyterian.  i'm a week late in posting this, but better late than never, right?

carley let us borrow the dress her mother made for her girls.  it is so beautiful and it fit her perfectly.  thank you aunt carley and maury and lucy and rebecca!

on our front porch after church.  you can see our sweet neighbor, ms. louise, behind us.  she has 16 children!!

family shot - pops, abbi, buddy, laurel, kissy, me, pat, pat's cousin jaime and her FIANCE justin.  (congrats, you two!)

i'm so in love with this little angel.  she smiles and coos all the time now.  i need to capture it on a video...

i think she loves me too.

this picture really shows how pretty the dress is.  you can't even tell that kissy has bronchitis, can you?

pastor craig and some other friends came over to help us celebrate this special day.

linnea, barb, and amy

ruth, nate, and matt

annie, craig, and the "hardee-whites" (alex and amanda)

linda, kathy, and pat.  big mama is telling someone how it is...

jaime, striking a pose

pops and buddy, striking a pose

kissy and laurel with hannah and ellison

although it looks like kennedy got a hold of a mimosa, i assure you it is only juice.  she just takes after her daddy in some photographs.

i love watching these two fall deeper in love every day.

all this attention makes a little girl sleepy!

thank you, Jesus, for this precious gift.  thank you for loving her even more than we do.  we pray that at a very early age she will know you as her Lord, her Shepherd, her Savior, her Comforter, her Keeper, her Best Friend.  we trust you and you alone for her salvation, as we do our own.  thank you for giving her so many friends and family members who love her and who are dedicated to helping us raise her according to your Word.  having a baby helps us grasp a little more how much you love us.  thank you!!!!  amen

Friday

my friend betsy

we had so many visitors last weekend.  my parents, pat's parents, and my sweet friend eleanor halliday and her baby girl betsy.  thank you for coming nori jean and nori liz!
we love you.

sweet betsy, model child.

ellie and i lived together in oxford many moons ago.  my, how time flies...

betsy and laurel modeling their bonnets.

betsy: "what is with you, little girl?"

they'll probably kill us when they get older.

laurel: "you want some of this?"

laurel: "ha, i may be small, but i'm MIGHTY!!"

betsy: (rolling her eyes) "whatever..."

laurel: "no, no, listen to this one, i got a good one..."

aw...

B.F.F.

air show

last friday pat and freddy and laurel and i went to the air show out at charleston air force base.  i had never been to one before and thought it was really cool.  i'm amazed by what my husband does for a living.  i'm also VERY PROUD!

ready to go!  i bet you can't give a thumbs up with your big toe...

buddy's shoulder is so comfortable.

daddy's plane

the only shade was under the wings of the planes.

we stayed to watch the thunderbirds perform.  unbelievable!

take me out to the ball game...

last week laurel experienced her first baseball game when pat's squadron had a party at the riverdogs game.  pat's parents were in town, so they got to go, too.  of course, some of us watched more of the game than others...
